Rappin’ for Hope

By admin on May 27, 2010

Rap isn’t gibberish, it’s a form of art,
Poetry of the streets, they call it,
It’s a way of expressing oneself,
Rap’s not about guns or girls,
Flying bullets or gangsters with mullet cuts,
It’s about letting your emotions flow,
Pouring your heart into the beats and lyrics,
Letting the music be your voice,
Rap’s about making a choice between life and death,
It’s about the strifes growing up in an indifferent world,
It shows the courage of a human to fight against the odds and succeed,
It’s about the seeds planted for the future,
Rap shows there’s a cure to even poverty,
There’s a way to end the misery if you just believe
And allow the lyrics to flow for themselves,
It shows the stealth of a race to fight for hope,
It’s not just about dope or ’shrooms or coke,
Rap’s more like a window into the souls of those still in suffering,
It’s the only means to escape a life of hardship and pain,
The only way to sustain the much needed peace of heart,
It’s the start of a revolution and the beginning of a new era,
It shows the human nature of love and care,
Rap’s not just gibberish, It’s a form art.
